The biggest room in the world is the room for improvement
Today’s message with my first cup of the day is: “The biggest room in the world is the room for improvement.”
That is one of the oldest motivational quotes in the world. The earliest known version was printed in the December 25, 1862 issue of Farmer’s Cabinet. It reads, “Somebody has discovered that the largest room in the world is the ‘room for improvement.’”
It was referenced again in the July 11, 1911 issue of Power: “THE biggest room in the world is the room for improvement; it knows no limits; it reaches from the guest room in the White House to the ash pile in the yard of the isolated one-unit plant, from the Goverment official to the President, from the chief to the boy who sweeps up. There is always room and there always will be. Perfection is never reached in anything.”
For over a century, the biggest room in the world has remained the room for improvement. It doesn’t matter who you are or your stage in life. There is always room for improvement.
Don’t compare yourself to others and become discouraged. Just like you, they have room for improvement. Focus on you. Seek to make improvements in your life daily. Realize that no one ever reaches perfection.
